Arne Jacobsen was given the task of designing St. Catherine’;s College, one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford, England. Completed in 1962, the college remains a bastion of architectural restraint—a consummate understated landmark. In the college Banquet Hall, Series 7™ chairs line the long rows of student tables. Framed by the modernist architecture, there is a certain majesty about the entire scene.
