If you’re interested in ceramic tiles, “Cevisama” is a place to visit. This international exhibition is held in Spain every year since 1983. This year it was visited by more than 83,000 guests from 148 countries of the globe. The place for holding such a trade fair is not a coincidence. Spanish factories produce about 500 million square meters of tiles annually, about 75 % of which are exported. That is why designers, architects and common buyers of the planet pay their special attention to Spanish tiles in particular. Today we’d like to suggest you going on a virtual tour to Valence and find out the latest news of the world of ceramic tiles, its top trends and most gorgeous novelties of the year 2017. So, let’s go!
At Cevisama 2017 the Azulev group of companies represented latest designs of its 3 family brands. The undoubted hit was the “Ageless” Collection. It is available in 4 colors (white, gray, pearlescent and ivory) and characterized by special plasticity, which comes from the addition of limestone. The “Basalt” series is amazing with its finishes perfectly imitating natural slate and tiles with 3D effect. A special mention is deserved by the “Expression” line with a thin layer of iron and tin that would be as great for minimalistic interiors as the “Ageless” Collection. And those who need a combination of spectacular appearance and improved durability and wear-resistance would appreciate the refreshed “Ottawa” collection made from red clay.
The Apavisa brand spent much time and effort on surveys and this year focused on the launch of collections tailored to the wants and needs of designers and clients. But how to figure which one is meant for whom? The representatives of the company at the stand of Cevisama 2017 explained it pretty simply: something that looks strange and unclear is for the designers, while samples with clear wood grain or textile patterns are for a broader buying audience. By the way, textile and fabric themes are very popular this year (at Apavisa it’s the “Nanofacture” Collection), as well as large-scale butterflies theme on ceramic granite (the “Elegance”, “Equinox”, “Junoon”, “Pietra grey”, “Statuario”, “St. Vincent” and “Tatoo” collections). The designers would definitely appreciate the combination of cement and stone textures (the “Nanofusion” Collection), faux 3D effect, marble and ceramic granite with beautiful cross-sections, the making of which is a kind of art. As for the exterior collections, these are 2-cm-thick slabs from “Solid”, “Materia”, “Regeneration” and “Concept” lines. They are good for house facades, terraces, patios and swimming pools.
This brand gained the world fame through its exterior mosaic tiles, the collections of which grow and improve every year. Such tiles are fit for swimming pools and any other areas contacting with water. Now the classical color palette is diluted with black, beige and chocolate brown hues, as well as a great range of earthy tones. The difference is not just in colors, but also in the enamel, which is especially relevant in those zones, where the water contact is the greatest. One more novelty is anti-slip mosaics.
The most amazing thing about the new collection by Saloni dubbed “Eternal” is the way it reveals finishes. The line includes marble and white clay tiles, as well as versatile 3D decorative bonuses for the implementation of both classical and ultra-modern ideas. It would be no problem to find trendy matte options or faux wood variants. The “Petralava” series is inspired by the graphics of volcanic rocks, which is just perfect for contemporary-style interiors. The collection offers a few formats and 3 options of surface finishes. As for the color schemes, buyers may choose between ivory, stone, sand, graphite and plain gray.
Todagres specializes on commercial ceramic granite, which is widely used not just in home interiors and landscaping, but also in public places with high traffic, such as museums, hotels, trade centers, exhibition booths, subway stations and airports. Accordingly, its key features are durability and wear-resistance. The most important novelty is the “Todatech” series, which includes tiles with marble, stone, cement and wood textures. The company invested about 1,000,000 Euro in creating this floor solution, and now it’s proud to be the only Spanish brand producing polished ceramic granite for universal use.
